No matter the situation, there is one thing in life that always makes me feel better. It is not drugs, pizza, sex, or chocolate. It is the simple act of closing my eyes and turning my face to the sun. In that moment all darkness turns bright. Instant bliss.
Sunshine is the ultimate power boost. Ultraviolet radiation from the sun releases endorphins, which are known as the “feel-good” hormones. It triggers the release serotonin which has been proven to improve mood and energy. Sunshine provides the body with vitamin D, plays a role in lowering cholesterol, and even regulates your circadian rhythm. Simply put, the right amount of sunshine will make everything better.
Next time you need a shift- step outside, close your eyes, turn your face to the sun, and bask in the warmth. Take three deep breaths. In this moment, you are connecting back to the place from which you came. Life is good in that moment. Enjoy.
Where the sun does not shine-
In 2019 the internet was abuzz about a new fad called Tanning the Perineum. For those of you who don’t know, the perineum in humans is the space between the anus and scrotum in the male and between the anus and the vulva in the female. This colloquially became known as exposing your butthole to sunshine. Believe it or not, there are some people who believe this has health benefits. I’ll let you look into it that.
While I cannot speak from firsthand, butt-sunshine experience, I have on occasion let my bird have some fresh air and a few rays. You know what? It felt great. I’m betting that tanning the perineum does actually feels good. Just DO NOT get caught, DO NOT get burnt, and DO NOT ask someone to help you put sunscreen on your taint.
Pants down. Shields up.
